Testimonials
From university audition and interview preparation, to helping me navigate my honours dissertation, Steph has mentored, supported and encouraged me endlessly. We quickly built a strong working relationship, and it is her good-humoured but no-nonsense approach which I loved about our sessions. Having someone genuinely passionate about and determined for my success really cemented my drive to make both of us proud.
— Vicky Macrae
I have had the absolute pleasure of working alongside Steph in her role as a drama lecturer at The University of Highlands and Islands. She is, in short, a complete powerhouse and an inspiration. She combines industry experience as a director and producer with performance training and academic knowledge of theatre and performance theory. She also has a deeply student-led approach with an understanding of a variety of teaching and pastoral practices which allows her to provide bespoke support, encouragement and creative challenge to all the learners she works with. I have learnt so much from her in my time as her colleague!
— Dr. Jennifer Kitchen
Steph has been working with Out of the Darkness Theatre Company / Moray College UHI in partnership for three years and in that space of time we have built a strong working relationship. The strength of this working partnership is solely down to Stephanie’s work ethic, knowledge, teaching experience and ability to create, share and discuss SQA content that connect projects to allow joint learning experiences for both parties in a collaborative fashion.
— Garry Collins
Steph Smart is undoubtedly the best tutor , lecturer and acting coach I have ever had. I have had many, but none come close to what Steph has to offer. Her passion for her craft, but most importantly her passion for her students is what sets Steph apart in my opinion. I had the privilege of having Steph as a lecturer at University for 4 years on a Drama & Production degree, and I highly, highly recommend working with her.
